Eagle Eyrie receives a 2011 Excellence in Water Treatment Plant Performance Award
Just as the title indicates, the Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water presented us with a 2011 Excellence in Water Treatment Plant Performance Award. This is an award that we have also received in the past, as well.
Eagle Eyrie does not connect to Bedford County’s water; we run our own system. Usually only visible from US 501 during the winter, we maintain a reservoir below the mountain.
We then pump that water through our plant, clean it and make it ready to drink.
Ed Glass is our Water Plant Operator and does an excellent job ensuring that the water is pumped up the hill with constant water pressure. As you can imagine, the Health Department is quite strict, so we’re really proud of our staff and their efforts.
